Salesforce Announces Agentforce Partner Network

Salesforce has unveiled its Agentforce Partner Network, marking a significant expansion of its AI capabilities. This announcement, made on September 17, 2024, introduces what Salesforce calls “the world’s first agent ecosystem,” designed to enhance the functionality of its AI-driven Agentforce platform.

Brian Millham, President and Chief Operating Officer at Salesforce, stated: “Agentforce represents a monumental shift in the industry, enabling humans with AI to redefine how businesses achieve customer success. Over the next year, our bold vision is to enable customers with a billion AI agents.”

What is the Agentforce Partner Network?

The Agentforce Partner Network is an open ecosystem that enables Salesforce’s AI agents to perform complex tasks across Salesforce and third-party systems. It allows partners to build and distribute new agent actions, pre-built agent templates, and specialized agents through Salesforce’s AppExchange.

Millham further explained: “The Agentforce Partner Network, the world’s first agent ecosystem, plays a crucial role in helping our customers realize this vision by providing a vast catalog of trusted and ready-to-deploy partner agents and agent actions.”

Google Cloud Partnership

Google Cloud has joined the Agentforce Partner Network, focusing on integrating Google Workspace with Salesforce’s AI agents. The press release states: “Google Workspace: Create, find, and share Google Docs and Slides, based on CRM data.”

Stephen Orban, Vice President, Partnerships at Google Cloud, commented: “This partnership brings together platforms where millions of people get work done every day. Salesforce’s Agentforce platform will help customers apply Google Cloud AI to real-world use cases, like business development, ecommerce, and much more — with enterprise-grade trust and accuracy.”

IBM Partnership

IBM’s participation in the Agentforce Partner Network centers on leveraging its watsonx platform and mainframe integration capabilities.

Nick Otto, Head of Global Strategic Partnerships at IBM, said: “Our partnership with Salesforce is about providing customers with unparalleled choice and flexibility in how they leverage AI, beginning with sales and services use cases. By providing joint customers the automation and data integration capabilities they need to build their own agents within the Salesforce Platform, along with access to our trusted Granite models, we are empowering them to deliver meaningful, AI-driven transformation across their organizations.”

Copado’s Integration

Copado, the dominant Salesforce DevOps vendor, is contributing to the Agentforce Partner Network. The press release specifically mentions Copado’s role: “Copado: Generate developer and testing materials to deliver Salesforce Platform apps faster.”

Partners are Good to Have

The launch of the Agentforce Partner Network represents a strategic move by Salesforce to create a comprehensive AI ecosystem. But, over the years Salesforce has relied on partnerships to for growth and customer success. This seems consistent with that pattern of success.

As the ecosystem grows, we can expect to see more specialized integrations and capabilities emerge, further expanding the potential applications of AI agents across various industries and business functions.
